Opening into New Territories - SRT as a doorway into Making Dances

Summer Intensive

Date:

Location: Bern

This 5-day intensive course combines the poetic and integrative method of Skinner Releasing Technique with the compositional work of Instant Composition. It is open to dancers, performers, dance teachers and movement lovers of all levels who have already (some) previous experience in SRT and wish to deepen and expand their technical, compositional and creative skills.

We will start each day with a SRT class followed by compositional explorations where we will create solos, duets and dance pieces in smaller or larger groups.
For this we will combine the respective Releasing principles with an awareness of space, time and other compositional aspects.
Cultivating qualities such as suppleness, effortlessness and a fluid attention allows us to listen more clearly to the ongoing interplay of our imagination and actions and enables us to participate fully in the material we create in the moment.
Dancing and composing with an open and available body and a playful mind we are able to enter new territories of unforeseen possibilities, fostering the performative potential of the intuitive, musical and poetic body in motion.

For whom:
As this week proposes later material of the SRT Introductory Level (from class 4 and onward), participants should have some experience in SRT (e.g. having taken part in one of the weekends An Introduction into Skinner Releasing ).
If you would like to participate but you are not sure about your experience or for any other questions, please send an email to info@bettinaneuhaus.com
