A film by Haïm Adri in collaboration with Bettina Neuhaus.
[…] In this film made in Munich, Bettina questions her relationship to silence by remembering Ruth Schaumann, her deaf grandmother who was a sculptress and writer and Erna Morena, her grandaunt, an actress of the German silent film era. Through entering into the life stories of these 2 women, Bettina witnesses and embodies her permeability, her inner landscape and the presence of her inherited silence, allowing the faces of these two remarkable women to reappear.
Physical memory and genealogy, the inner sounds and speed of Bettina's internal process and the individuality of the descendant are the main subjects of this film […]
