The Page is a performance by independent dance artists Robie Legros and Bettina Neuhaus in collaboration with sound artist and light designer Matthieu Legros.

The two performers devote themselves to the act of writing in movement, sounds and spoken words. As their actions continuously fill ‘the page’ of time and space they build together a language of poetry.
The piece and its dramaturgy develop along the compositional matrix that the dancers and the musician weave together through their ongoing dialogue. The theatre lighting opens new spaces for the performer’s dance and stories to further unfold.

The performance The Page has evolved from the equally-named artistic research project of Robie Legros and Bettina Neuhaus. Over the period of a year the artists investigated the act of poetic writing by using dance, voice and text and their interweaving.
Their artistic process comprised several work periods in Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Netherlands and included a studio sharing at 4BidGallery, Amsterdam, February 26, 2022, the performance Prazdny prostor / Empty space, Brno, March 31, 2022 and a residency at Rezi.dance in Komarice, June 2022.

In addition to the performance, the collaboration also resulted in the audio-visual installation How long does the image last? that premiered at the Schaubmarov Mlyn, Pezinok, October 7, 2022.

Furthermore, the artistic process led to the wish among the artists to create some ‘poetic objects’ that could be shared with others as a tangible trace of their work. This resulted in several series of postcards The Page and a set of fabrics with printed poetry by the artists, created in collaboration with the offset workshop BRNOTISKNE, Brno.
