Spaces of imagination & dancing – Skinner Releasing Technique

During these 4 morning classes that are part of WinterTanz & Satelliten 2026/27 at Tanzfabrik Berlin, we will engage with the basic principles of Skinner Releasing as a way to access the intuitive and poetic body in motion.
The duration of 3-hours gives time and space to get fully immersed in the dancing guided by one's imagination.

Offering an introduction into the basic material of the Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT) this workshop is especially for those who are new to SRT and would like to experience it.
For people who are already familiar with SRT it is an opportunity to return to the basics and deepen their practice. Be welcome!

SRT is a poetic and experiential approach to dance training. It uses poetic imagery, shared partner work and playful movement explorations to illuminate the fascinating dialogue between our kinesthetic imagination and our movement.
The practice of letting go of unnecessary holding in the body’s tissues and allowing change and movement to happen provide new possibilities in our dancing.
At the same time, we develop trust to let our bodies lead the way, more and more, and often find a sense of wholeness.
SRT promotes a multi-directional, dynamic alignment and to move with suppleness, efficiency and articulation. This enhances a stronger presence and opens more layers in our dancing, which unfolds in the interplay of our kinesthetic imagination, movement and stillness. More information here
