Opening the Page - Moments of shared dedication

July 2026

ARCHY IMMEDIATU Volume 2 is an occasional publication dedicated to improvisation and instant composition, not only in dance. It´s objective is threefold: to map the practice of artists through interviews, to capture in essays the overlap of improvisation and areas of life other than the arts, and to find ways to capture in text or image the poetics of the performances we have witnessed.

Produced by Robie Legros and Tomás Janypka, ARCHY builds on their long-standing collaboration as co-organisers and performers.
The leitmotif of 'opening time' is interwoven throughout the texts and photographs and is also simultaneously shaping preparations for the IMMEDIATUS BIENNALE 2026, the international festival of improvisation and instant composition in dance (14–20 September, 2026 in Brno).

In this issue, you will find the poem ‘Peace, please’ by Lily Kiara, an interview with Italian dance duo Priscilla Pizziol & Edoardo Sgambato, politically engaged reflections by dance artist Yeonji Han and musician Elia Moretti, a dialogue between Bettina Neuhaus & Robie Legros about their collaborative practice involving the voice of the moving body, and a prayer by Berrak Yedek. The booklet is designed by Marek Stepanek and the text is accompanied by a series of photographs by Tereza Juráková.
ARCHY IMMEDIATU Volume 2 will be soon available in English in both online and printed formats, while the Czech edition will be offered exclusively in print. More information on ordering options will follow.
